On 23rd October 2017, WWF Zambia in partnership with GAIA education and Young Emerging Farmer’s Initiative (YEMI) officially launched the Zambian Youth for Conservation, Agriculture and Livelihood Action project (ZYCALA). The project is supported by the Scottish government and implementation will happen in the districts of Mkushi, Serenje and Chitambo in Central province.
The programme seeks to strengthen the capacities of young people in all three districts to become change agents in youth-led campaigning on social and environmental issues, sustainable income generation and food security actions.
The project will also teach bee-keeping and forestry in the different districts.
