Sustainable Financial Regulations and Central Bank Activities

WWF´s Sustainable Financial Regulations and Central Bank Activities (SUSREG) Tracker 2024 finds that banking and insurance supervision on climate-related issues has been steadily progressing over the past four years. Efforts to tackle broader environmental issues, such as nature loss, remain insufficient and its integration into monetary policy and central banking activities seriously lags.

In particular deforestation, land conversion, freshwater management, and ocean and marine habitats remain largely unaddressed in most regulatory frameworks despite being a cornerstone of effective climate action. Read more here
